My Geek Score: People’s choice award 2021 is the most awaited show of the year. This is an American award show which stands to felicitate the stars of the entertainment industry across USA. The voting for this award show is done online by the fans. It started in 1975 and is still on run. Earlier the winners were declared by Gallup polls and then since 2005 online voting has taken the space of winner nomination. The award creator is non-other than Bob Stivers who produced the first show in the year 1975. “The Sting” was first being recognized as favorite picture of the year 1974. At the time Barbra Streisand was considered the favorite actress with John Wayne being the favorite actor.
It was in the year 1982 Stivers sold this award to the Procter and Gamble production and the complete event got broadcasted by CBS. The advertising was done completely by Procter and Gamble’s brand and broadcasted actors globe. Then in the year 2017 around the month of April, the E! Network announced the ownership of the People’s Choice Awards. Then the ceremony got shifted from January to November for telecasting it at the best time of the season.
Event Details
The people’s choice award 2021 will be held on 7th day of December 2021, Tuesday at 9PM ET and will be live telecast simultaneously on E! And NBC directly from the Barket Hanger in Santa Monica, CA. The nominations have already been bee announced with the US leading sources and in the pack of TV categories there are six nods with LOKI with five. This manages with list followed by Grey’s Anatomy, Law & Order, SVU, Outer Banks, Ted Lasso and the Wanda Vision holding four nominations each. Even the new of TV releases like Squid Games and Only Murders in the building have also received nominations. Moving ahead with the categories led by F9. The fast saga has captured the 8th position in nomination list with sharing the same being “movie of 2021” caption with an individual nods for Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron and John Cena.
In the next category of music, the nominee starts with Justin Bieber as the leading one with 10 nods follows with six nods of Lil Nas X and Olivia Rodrigo tied with Doja Cat in the 5th nomination.
Looking ahead to the pandemic situation, the people’s choice awards 2021 have announced officially with its voting polls.
