Big Shift Coming for T-Mobile Customers: The Carrier Is Discontinuing Its Free Apple TV Promotion. Starting from January 1, 2026, Apple TV will not be entirely free for T-Mobile subscribers anymore.
What’s Behind the Cost Shift for Subscribers
The reason? According to Apple, it has increased its Apple TV subscription from $9.99 to $12.99 per month.
T-Mobile says it will still cover $9.99 of that—but you will have to pay the other $3 a month to keep the service.
What Plans Will Be Affected by This Change
This isn’t a Europe-wide change; only certain premium plans will face this blow. Customers on Experience More, Go 5G Plus, Magenta Max, Magenta Plus, ONE Plus and the like are those getting targeted with the new charge.
How You’ll Be Notified About Billing Update
T-Mobile has started sending texts to affected customers.
The messages explain that from the new year, the Apple TV benefit transfers from being a free perk to a discounted add-on effective from January 2026 with a fee of $3.
How To Opt Out Before the New Charge Begins
Should you decide not to pay the extra $3, you can cancel the Apple TV add-on through the T-Life app or your T-Mobile account.
Make sure to do this before December 31, 2025, to avoid being charged.
What Happens If You’re Already Paying for Apple TV Via T-Mobile
If you were already paying and not using the “On Us” promotion, that is now going to be capped at the full $12.99/month starting in January.
Why T-Mobile Is Making This Move Right Now
Not just for the heck of it, T-Mobile decided to share the weight of the Apple price adjustment with its customers with Apple raising its own subscription pricing.
This seems to be a clear message: ‘free’ perks are not forever free when actual service costs increase.
