Spider-Man: No Way Home Hits $1 Billion Globally, Becomes The First Movie To Do So In The Covid – Pandemic Era
My Geek Score: Spider-man: No Way Home, released on 16th December 2021, is the best final act of Marvel projects, and it crossed $ 1 Billion at the box office.
Since the covid-19 pandemic, it is the first-ever movie to cross $1.09 Billion. Spiderman movies have been the mixed production of Marvel Studios and Disney under Marvel Cinematic Universe for over a decade.
In August 2009, Disney announced the deal with Marvel Entertainment for $ 4 billion, and later in 2009, the merger was approved.
After three years of merger, i.e., in 2012, The Avengers movie came out, grossing $ 1.5 billion. In addition, it was the very first Marvel movie to generate $1 billion in ticket sales.
Later, The Avengers became the highest-grossed movie of 2012.
The Tom Holland starred Spiderman: No way Home has become the world’s highest-netting movie of 2021, leaving behind “The Battle of Lake Changjin,” the war-based Korean film (made in China).
The world is very much aware of the rapidly spreading Omicron variant. Still, the co-production of Disney and Marvel has crossed the landmark in two weeks of release.
The much-awaited movie is remarkable because no other Hollywood movies have worked well on the box offices since the pandemic.
Due to the change in policies, the movie hasn’t been released in China, which is the most significant cinematic market in the world.
There is sad news for the viewer’s waiting for the movie to release on over-the-top (OTT) platforms.
Currently, there is no news for Spiderman No Way Home to show on Netflix or any other streaming channels.
However, Sony collaborated with Starz and planned for the worldwide streaming of the movie next within the release of three months.
The movie will be streaming on TV next year, according to the rumours.
